Partido Digital has made history in Uruguayan Blockchain Democracy. This project was designed in collaboration with Partido Digital – an Uruguayan political party. The project consisted of developing a proof of concept based on the application of internal governance practices by leveraging Blockchain technology. To do so, the app asks users different questions, simulating a type of survey and voting system where all signatories are anonymous.
The aim of the project was to create a decentralized application (Dapp) founded on the “liquid democracy” model using tokens and smart contracts. Uruguay’s Partido Digital drive allowed it to develop a blockchain-enabled voting system for accessibility and transparency in internal voting. The partnership has been instrumental in giving citizens the power to vote on proposals, as well as to offer innovative ideas, in a transparent, secure and direct manner.
